Chaitra Sontakke
A promising Vocalist , Performer , Teacher , Mentor and a Visionary . Equally at ease with Hindustani Classical as well as as Bhajan , Sufi and Fusion .Chaitra Sontakke is presently employed with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy . She was attached with the Deens Academy where she had the privilege of working with Principal Ms Shanti Menon , a noted Mohiniattam and Bharat Natyam Dancer She was also working at the Prakriya Green Wisdom School and the Valley School(Krishnamurthy Foundation India) She has had the privilege of working on several projects under the able guidance of senior musician and educator Vidushi Smt. Bharti Balakrishnan.
Born in a music loving family her interest in music was nurtured by her grandmother Smt Narayani Pai . She went on to formally begin Music education under Sri Subramanya.
She later started Hindustani Music lessons from Dr Smt Mani Sontakke and graduated to learning from Dr. R. B. Sontakke. Under his guidance she mastered the Gharanedar Gayaki of Pandit OmkarnathThakur's famous Bhavapoorna Gayaki style.
She has done her Masters degree in Vocal apart from B.E .She has been performing in cities like Gadag , Hubli , Dharwad, Belgaum Mumbai other than Bangalore.
She has given concerts for Sangeet Sankalp, Nadashree Sangeet Sabha, Lal Bagh Udyana Vana, Pt. Basavaraj Bendigeri Smriti, Engineers coference UVCE, Independence Day Celebrations attended by Hon Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Governor H. R. Bharadwaj. She has also perfomed for ETV , KASTURI , UDAYA T.V. Akashvani and Doordarshan.
